Rajnath Singh: Operation Sindoor ‘Just a Trailer’, India Ready for Full Response if Needed

In a strong message to Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on May 16, 2025, declared that Operation Sindoor was “just a trailer,” suggesting that a much stronger response could follow if Pakistan continues to support terrorism. Addressing the Indian Air Force personnel at Bhuj Air Force Station in Gujarat, Singh made it clear that India’s armed forces are fully prepared to escalate action if national security is threatened again. His remarks come amid a tense ceasefire between India and Pakistan, following a recent flare-up along the Line of Control and targeted operations carried out by the Indian military.

Rajnath Singh praised the swift execution of Operation Sindoor, which he said was carried out with surgical precision in just 23 minutes. He noted that the operation inflicted significant damage on Pakistan’s military infrastructure, including several key air bases. Singh also emphasized the successful use of India’s indigenous BrahMos missile system, stating that its deployment underlined India’s growing military strength and self-reliance in defense technologies.

The Defence Minister did not mince words in accusing Pakistan of continuing to harbor and support terrorist activities. He stated that India has now placed Pakistan “on probation,” implying that any further misadventures would be met with a decisive and more aggressive response. Singh also expressed serious concern over international funding to Pakistan, especially from institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), hinting that such financial aid could potentially be diverted to fund terrorism.

While Pakistan has reportedly announced an extension of the current ceasefire until Sunday, there has been no official confirmation from the Indian side. Singh’s remarks indicate that India remains cautious and vigilant, unwilling to accept any compromise when it comes to protecting its sovereignty and citizens. The message from Bhuj was clear—India will not hesitate to act again if provoked, and Operation Sindoor is only a glimpse of what could follow.

Singh concluded his address by lauding the courage and professionalism of the Indian armed forces. He stated that the entire nation stands behind its military and that any threat, internal or external, will be dealt with firmly. The speech served not just as a morale booster for troops stationed at the border, but also as a strategic warning to adversaries watching closely from across the border.
