Brick Kiln Tragedy: Worker Dies, 12 Hospitalized Due to Suspected Food Poisoning
A tragic incident at a brick kiln leaves one worker dead and 12 others hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning. Authorities begin investigation into the cause of contamination.

May 20, 2025 — A tragic case of suspected food poisoning at a local brick kiln has resulted in the death of one worker and left 12 others hospitalized in critical condition. The incident occurred late last night after the workers reportedly consumed a meal provided at the worksite.
According to preliminary reports, shortly after dinner, several workers began complaining of severe stomach pain, vomiting, and dizziness. Emergency services were called, and 13 individuals were rushed to a nearby government hospital. Unfortunately, one of the workers, whose identity is being withheld until family members are informed, was declared dead on arrival.
Hospital authorities confirmed that 12 workers are currently undergoing treatment, with at least three of them in the intensive care unit. Their condition is being closely monitored.
Local police and health officials have launched an investigation into the incident. A sample of the food served has been collected and sent to the forensic lab for testing. Initial suspicion points toward possible contamination of either the water or ingredients used during meal preparation.
“We are taking this incident very seriously,” said a senior health official. “Food safety teams have been deployed to the site to inspect hygiene standards and food handling procedures.”
The brick kiln management is also being questioned about the source of the food and the conditions under which it was prepared. Labor rights groups have condemned the negligence and called for stringent action against those responsible.
This incident has once again highlighted the poor living and working conditions many laborers face, especially in unregulated industrial setups like brick kilns, where basic amenities and health safeguards are often ignored.
Authorities have assured that all necessary medical aid is being provided to the affected workers and that support will be extended to the deceased worker’s family.
Further updates are expected following the lab results and completion of the investigation.
