Dr. Prasad Karande Assumes Charge as Registrar of the University of Mumbai

Mumbai, 26th August: Dr. Prasad Karande, Associate Professor at Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, has today assumed the charge of Registrar at the University of Mumbai. In a ceremony held in the Management Council Hall, the outgoing Acting Registrar, Prof. Baliram Gaikwad, handed over the responsibilities to Dr. Prasad Karande. Dr. Karande was selected as the Registrar by the Selection Committee on 17th August 2024.

Dr. Prasad Karande has been serving as a full-time Associate Professor at VJTI, Mumbai. He holds a BE (Mechanical) and an ME (Production) as well as a Ph.D. in Engineering. Dr. Karande brings with him a total of 28 years of academic and administrative experience. Previously, he successfully managed the role of Director of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation at the University of Mumbai. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ravindra Kulkarni, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Principal Dr. Ajay Bhamare, congratulated Dr. Karande and extended their best wishes for his future endeavors.

While assuming his new role, Dr. Prasad Karande emphasized the importance of prioritizing digitization to enhance speed, efficiency, and accountability in administrative work, with a focus on collaborative efforts.
