Holi: A Celebration of Colors in Nature
Holi is a joyful, vibrant, and enthusiastic festival deeply rooted in Indian culture. It symbolizes the colors of nature—just as trees shed their old leaves and embrace new foliage, this festival brings new hope, positivity, and happiness. In Mumbai, trees primarily shed their leaves during the late winter season (Shishir Ritu), which falls in February, and new leaves begin to emerge in the spring season (Vasant Ritu), around March. In the R South division, places like Gopinath Munde Garden, Veer Abdul Hamid Garden, road medians, and various other parks are adorned with a vibrant bloom of flowers, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of colors. This natural display reflects the spirit of "Vasundhara" (Mother Earth) and beautifully mirrors the essence of Holi—spreading colors through nature’s beauty. While Holi colors embody the energy of celebration, the colors of flowers express the tenderness and beauty of nature.
