In a groundbreaking move that bridges India's literary legacy with contemporary cinema, Almighty Motion Picture has officially acquired the audio-visual rights to eight iconic novels by Ved Prakash Sharma, widely revered as the father of Indian pulp fiction. Known for his gripping thrillers and mass-market appeal, Sharma’s stories have sold crores of copies, making him one of the best-selling authors in Indian literary history.
The titles set for adaptation include Superstar, Paintra, Dahej Mai Revolver, Jadu Bhara Jaal, and the cult-favorite trilogy Qatil Ho To Aisa, Shakahari Khanjar, and Madari, along with the dark, high-voltage Naseeb Mera Dushman. Each of these works is a testament to Sharma’s flair for drama, suspense, and unforgettable storytelling that transcended urban and rural divides.
“This is not just an acquisition—it’s a tribute,” said Prabhleen Sandhu, Founder of Almighty Motion Picture. “Ved Prakash Sharma ji is one of the most iconic storytellers India has ever seen. His stories have shaped popular literature in our country. To bring them to screen is both a dream and a deep responsibility. We are grateful to Shagun Sharma and Madhu Sharma ji for trusting us with this legacy.”
The deal was made in collaboration with Tulsi Paper Books, co-founded by Shagun Sharma, the late author’s daughter. The emotional significance of this project was highlighted in her statement:
“It’s an emotional moment for our family and for fans of my father’s work. Watching his stories find new form through cinema is a celebration of his legacy. Teaming up with Almighty Motion Picture ensures these adaptations will be handled with creativity and care.”
Known for producing bold and socially relevant content, Almighty Motion Picture plans to breathe new life into Sharma’s thrilling narratives by adapting them into a mix of films and web series formats. With rising demand for local content rooted in rich storytelling, the production house aims to deliver high-impact, culturally resonant entertainment.
Industry watchers are already calling this one of the most promising content slates in recent years. The selected novels, steeped in vintage crime, emotional drama, and action, are expected to appeal to both loyal readers and a new generation raised on digital platforms.
The adaptations are expected to begin production in phases from late 2025, with details on directors, cast, and platforms to be announced soon. From dusty alleys and courtroom intrigues to back-alley assassins and righteous vigilantes, Ved Prakash Sharma’s world is all set to explode on screen.
